Headshots · Sydney
Your LinkedIn photo was taken at a conference.
Cropped out of a group shot, lit from directly overhead, four years out of date and you are holding a lanyard. It is doing a job for you right now, and it is not doing it well. Twenty minutes fixes it for the next three years.

The point of it
People decide about you before you speak.
Your headshot is on your LinkedIn profile, your proposals, the speaker page, the company team grid and the email signature. For a great many people, it is the only version of you they will ever see. It is doing work whether or not you have thought about it.
A good headshot is not a glamour exercise and it should not look retouched into someone else. It should look like you on a decent day, in good light, in focus, with the expression you actually use when you are interested in what someone is saying. Nothing more clever than that.
We do not shoot against a beige office wall with a window behind you. We light it properly, direct you the whole way, and you look at the frames as we go so there are no surprises at the end.

The awkward bits
What people say on the phone.
Four questions, answered without the sales voice.
“I hate photos of myself.”
That is the most common brief we get, by a distance. It is a lighting and direction problem, not a face problem. Almost every bad photo of you was taken under overhead lighting or a phone flash, at an unflattering distance, by someone who said nothing while they took it. You concluded the problem was your face. It was not.
“How long will it take?”
An individual sitting is short and businesslike — you are not there for an afternoon. Personal brand sessions run longer because there is more to get through. On-site team days are booked in short back-to-back slots so each person leaves their desk once. We confirm exact timings when we quote.
“What do I wear?”
What you would wear to meet a good client. Solid mid-tones beat patterns, necklines matter more than anything else because the frame is mostly face and shoulders, and a pressed shirt reads as competence in a way nothing else does. Bring two or three options. We will tell you which one works before we start.
“How fast do I get them?”
You choose your favourites on the day, on screen, with us — nobody leaves wondering whether there was a better frame. Retouched finals follow after that. We confirm turnaround, and any rush options, when we quote.
Three ways to book
One photo, a whole library, or the whole team.
Most people need the first. If your face is part of how you sell, you need the second. If you have a team page that looks like eleven different companies, you need the third.
Individual
One look, one background, fully directed. You leave with a headshot that works on LinkedIn, a proposal, a bio page and a name badge for the next few years. Studio in Epping or on-site.
Best for one person who needs one strong, current headshot.
Personal brand
Multiple looks, backgrounds and wardrobe changes, and a larger set of images. Built for consultants, founders, agents and anyone who has to feed a website and social accounts as well as have one good headshot.
Best for a founder or consultant feeding a website, a bio and social accounts.
Team & on-site days
We bring the studio to your office and run short back-to-back slots. Same light, same background, same treatment, so the team page finally looks like one company. New starters matched to the same look later.
Best for a whole team that needs to look like one company.
Headshots are quoted on the brief — how many people, where, and how quickly you need them. Send us those three things and we’ll come back the same day.

On the day
Efficient, and not remotely a photoshoot.
Nobody is asked to be a model. You will be told exactly what to do and you will see the results as we go.
Ten minutes of planning
Where the images will be used, whether the background needs to match an existing team page, and which of the shirts you brought is going to work. Email or a quick call beforehand.
Light and set
In the Epping studio it is already up. On-site we arrive early and build a proper lit set in a meeting room or a corner of the floor — we need a small amount of space and a power point, not a window.
Direction, frame by frame
Chin, shoulders, weight, eyes, and the difference between a held smile and a real one. You will be corrected constantly and it is the reason the photographs work.
Choose on the spot
We review the frames with you before you leave and you mark the ones you want. Retouching is done afterwards to a natural standard — skin tidied, not rebuilt.
Who we are
Binh and Lin
Husband and wife, parents of three, and the two people who will be photographing you. Award-winning, with Master accreditations from WPPI and NZIPP.
Portrait work is the whole business, which is why a headshot here is directed rather than pointed at. Studio in Epping, by appointment, Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 5pm.
Questions
The rest of the detail.
The studio in Epping is faster to set up and gives complete control of the light. On-site is better for teams, because the total time cost to the business is far lower when nobody has to travel. Both use the same lighting and the same direction.
Yes, where the space allows — a clean corner of the floor, a stairwell, the street outside. It suits personal brand work more than a straight corporate headshot, where consistency across the team usually matters more than variety.
Natural retouching on your chosen finals: skin tidied, stray hair sorted, nothing rebuilt. You should look like yourself on a good day, not like a different person. We confirm retouching levels when we quote.
Yes. We keep the lighting and background specification for your team so someone photographed six months later drops into the same grid without looking out of place.
Portrait sessions generally book four to six weeks ahead. Send us your dates and we will reply within one business day.
Then look at the full portrait sessions — family, children, maternity and newborn — which run up to ninety minutes for a $395 session fee and finish as framed wall art.

While you are here
We also photograph the rest of your life.
Same studio, same direction, a very different afternoon. Family sessions run up to ninety minutes for $395, studio or on location across Sydney, and finish as printed work on a wall rather than files on a drive.
